Dr. Busuttil has full proficiency when it comes to the English, Italian, French and Maltese languages, and he also has a reasonable understanding of a number of other languages.
His professional experience spans in senior partner positions at several Maltese law firms, including Zammit Dimech & Busuttil Advocates and Busuttil & Busuttil Advocates. His areas of specialisation include mergers and acquisitions, international commercial law, intellectual property, and corporate law.
Dr.Busuttil has lectured at the University of Malta and the Sonnenberg International Institute in Germany, served as a Chairman of the Legal Commission of the Malta Olympic Committee, represented Malta as the Malta Official Delegate on the Supervisory Board of the EU Chamber of Commerce in Beijing, China and he also chaired the Appeals Board on Enforcement Decisions within the Malta Tourism Authority.
He has represented a diversity of multi-national companies over his 40years of practice and has worked closely with top U.S and UK law firms on a number of issues The Firm is a member of IR Global.
Dr. Busuttil has been named the Mergers and Acquisitions Expert for 2022 by Leaders in Law as well The Recommended Mergers and Acquisition Expert in Malta by Advisory Excellence.
Dr. Busuttil is an expert in international immigration law, intellectual property law, and company law, and is currently Head of the Department of International Commercial Law at his current law firm.

Having an in-depth expertise in both citizenship and immigration matters , Dr Michaela Millo is the Head of the Immigration Department at the Firm. She is a licensed accredited agent with the Community of Malta Agency bearing the license number AKM-MILL which allows her to submit applications on behalf of her clients for both the Malta Permanent Residence Programme and also applications with regards to the Naturalisation for Exceptional Services by Direct Investment. Dr Michaela Millo is also involved in the handling Nomad Residence Permits and also Work Permits.
She also regularly assists the Due Diligence Team in drafting anti-money laundering policies and procedures and risk assessments, and also assists on matters relating to commercial and contract law .
She feels that her career experiences in dealing with many people coming from around the globe with different cultural backgrounds and having to work around the clock, made her motivated and also goal orientated to ensure that the clients’ expectations are met.
Michaela is highly focused in her work and her young age allows her to blend energy with experience which is a trademark of her work.

He broadened his studies in the field of anti-money laundering as well as data protection. Thomas is fluent in three languages: Maltese, English and Italian and has also a working knowledge of the French language.
Thomas has worked with various firms including the role of in-house counsel within the corporate services industry. Having garnered expertise, Thomas heads the Corporate and Commercial Department within the firm and specialises in the provision of legal support to clients within the fields of civil litigation, corporate, commercial, employment and industrial relations, financial, contract law and data protection.
He has extensive experience in advising both the private and the public sector, having assisted private clients in numerous corporate matters, as well as various authorities and governmental departments in the drafting of legislative frameworks in various fields.

She graduated as a lawyer in 2015 with a Doctorate of Laws from the University of Malta after defending her thesis entitled “The Legal Relationship between the 1982 UNCLOS and the 1992 Convention of the Marine Environment”.
Yanica was called to the bar in 2018 and is fluent in four languages: Maltese, English, French and Italian and has also a working knowledge of the Spanish language.
Having worked for a number of firms, Yanica pursued her career overseas where she worked in the Permanent Representation of Malta to the European Union in Brussels for 4 years where she was initially responsible for policy areas of a civil nature within the EU Justice Portfolio and subsequently entrusted with the general legal affairs wherein her main role was to coordinate and oversee all major legal matters arising out of EU policy areas within the Permanent Representation of Malta to the European Union and providing analysis and advice on all relevant legal aspects, in particular in coordinating all matters relating to infringement and EU Pilot proceedings against Malta.
On a daily basis she participated in working parties of the Council of the European Union including the Committee of the Permanent Representatives (COREPER).
Yanica heads the Dispute Resolution and Litigation Department within the firm and mainly deals with litigation in the fields of criminal, civil, family, immigration and European Union law by representing both local and foreign clients in front of various Maltese Courts, Arbitration and Specialised Boards and Tribunals.

She has been closely associated with all the firms that Dr. Busuttil has been involved with and now is once again associated at Busuttil & Millo Advocates.
Hilda is the Honorary Consul of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas to Malta.
